Make Something Monday: Gary’s Garden

So Gary recently started a garden. He’s planted about 6 different chili pepper plants, more green beans than I can count, cucumbers, squash, and 4 different kind of tomato plants!
Gardening is his new obsession I think. He wakes up on weekends and goes out to see how his plants are doing. The kids have enjoyed gardening with him too, and I’ve gotten some great pictures of them “helping”. He is so good with them and lets them help almost as much as they want to.
Back in mid-January, they helped him plant the seeds in little pots. When those grew big enough, they helped him transplant them to the planter.
Here are some pics of the process, and some of his plants today. If you look closely, you’ll see some of them are already producing!!

  1. Oh what a great idea! We really need to start doing this! It is a great family activity! I love the little guy with the spade!! LOL!

  2. He is such a good papa! Looks like fun!

  3. How exciting! You are ahead of us in the gardening season. We have potatoes and onions planted so far. Still a few more weeks to go before the rest of the veggies!

I’m glad to see the kids are enjoying working with the plants too.

That looks like so much fun…especially getting the kids involved. I can’t garden at all-lol-but I really want to learn.

So fun! The best is when you actually get to eat it. Thats what I love about ours. Getting up and checking on the plants is something I’ve seen a certain person in my house do too!
