One of the things I looked forward to most with having a daughter was getting to do her hair. I just love seeing little girls with their hair all done up, braided or in pony tails with cute little bows or hair clips.
My daughter is not quite as into me doing her hair as I had hoped. Most of the time this works out just fine, since we are often racing out the door to make it on time to where we are going, but there are times when we do have time and I’d love to just sit and braid or style her hair. Occasionally she will give in, but most of the time she’d just rather I put a headband or hair clip in it and go.
If all she is going to wear most of the time is hair clips, then they’ve got to be cute; Which is why I’m always thrilled to find companies like Ribbies Clippies!
Ribbies Clippies was created by sisters Kim Marable and Kristen Creamer in 2006 when they were looking for an alternative to the big hair bow for their then 6 month old daughters. Ribbies Clippies was one of the first hair accessories on the market to sell hairclips covered simply with patterned ribbon. A foam grip was added to the inside of the clip and the original company motto of “Modern. Simple. Grippy” was created. It was this innovation and the simple design that made Ribbies Clippies a selection for the Target Parent Inventors program. The Ribbies business was only 6 months old when Target placed their first order. Five years later the 4 pack gift set can still be found on Target.com.
Ribbies Clippies sent us the Chloe Hair Clip Gift Set to review. Brooke was thrilled to be able to have some new clips to go with her outfits, and has been putting them in her hair since we got them. She is a few months shy of turning 6, so you can imagine that she is not always careful with them. However, these clips are made well, and have stood up to the tests Brooke has put them through. They are constantly in her mouth, in her pockets, dropped on the floor and stepped on, and they’ve held up through it all!
I also love the non-slip foam piece that is adhered to the inside of each of the clips. Quite often, with other brands, the clips slip out of place or completely fall out of Brooke’s hair very easily. The foam piece in each of the Ribbies Clippies keeps the clips in place, so I don’t have to worry about her losing them when we’re out!
I love the Ribbies Clippies we have and can’t wait to get more! Brooke looked through the site herself and already has a few sets picked out. There are some perfect ones for her holiday outfits, and some other adorable ones I think I need to get too!
Check out Ribbies Clippies for other adorable products as well, such as headbands, bows, clippie holders, pacifier clips and more!
