Here it is, the FINAL review and giveaway for my Back In Fluff event! *sniff sniff* I hope you’ve had fun (I sure have!), learned lots about different diapers and found a few you’re interested in trying! Please be sure to support these amazing sponsors, they truly are all awesome!
As this is the final review and giveaway of Back In Fluff, I wanted to go out with a bang! Read my review below of the awesome My Baby Wears Cloth diaper store, and enter to win not one, but 2 fabulous cloth diapers!!!
My Baby Wears Cloth is a new cloth diaper store (opened in Feb 2011) which sells tons of cloth diapers and cloth diapering accessories. I asked Claudia, mommy behind My Baby Wears Cloth, to tell me a little about herself:
My husband Seth & I have 2 children, a 6 year old daughter and 1 year old son. We live in Fairhope, Alabama. Cloth diapering started for us when my daughter was about 8 months old. She suffered awful rashes and yeast infections. After going through every treatment & prescription possible, my pediatrician recommended cloth diapering as an option to help. I immediately thought of diaper pins & terrible mess! I would’ve said “no way”, but with her rashes, I started researching & found FuzziBunz. I bought 13 lavender & hot pink size large FuzziBunz (that my 1 year old son wears now!). Switching to cloth solved my rash problems and I have been hooked ever since.
The one thing I sell that I think moms shouldn’t be without? Hemp liners! No doubt, they can make all the difference in your cloth experience. They help with nightime, heavy wetters like mine, or if you just want a trimmer pocket that absorbs better.
The My Baby Wears Cloth site has a gift registry, and also has lots of helpful information about cloth diapering. There is even a section with information on detergents and what they recommend you use on your cloth diapers! Claudia has been a pleasure to work with, offering fabulous customer service.
She generously sent us a Grovia AI2 diaper and a bumGenius 4.0 One Size diaper to review.
One of the first diapers I had for Connor was a bumGenius newborn AIO. I loved it. It was cute and easier for me, since I was used to disposables from my other 3 kids. It was one of the diapers I grabbed for first whenever it was clean. So when I was given a chance to try the bumGenius 4.0 I was excited to see if I’d love it as much as I loved the AIO!
The bumGenius 4.0 is a one-size pocket diaper to fit babies from 7 to 35+ pounds. There are 3 rows of snaps to adjust the rise. The pocket is nice and large, which makes stuffing and removing an insert (or multiple inserts) easy. The downside is that the pocket is in the back, but since it’s large it is much easier to remove while avoiding the mess. All bumGenius diapers come with 2 inserts, one small for newborns and a larger one size insert which snaps to 3 sizes. To me, this makes it truly a one-size diaper, and is also nice since you can use the newborn insert with the larger insert for extra absorbency when baby gets bigger! The inside liner is soft for baby’s skin and helps wick away moisture to keep baby’s skin dry. The elastic is gentle yet secure, making this diaper leakproof while still being comfortable. I also like the stretchy tabs, making it easy to snap and also giving a secure fit around the waist. This bumGenius is as wonderful as the very first one I had!
I was also very excited to be able to try the Grovia AI2 diaper in hook & loop (velcro). This diaper consists of the shell and snap-in inserts. This systems allows you to reuse the shell with each diaper change, only needing to remove the soiled insert and replace it with a fresh insert. It is a one size diaper for babies 8 to 35+ pounds, with 2 rows of snaps to adjust the rise.
We were sent the adorable planes print! My kids love this diaper more than any we have because of the adorable planes print. I love the contrasting solid tabs with the print of the diaper. The velcro on this diaper is very secure and hard to get off (even for me sometimes!), so I have no worries that Connor will remove this diaper and leave a mess! It also has wonderful tuck under laundry tabs for washing to prevent diaper chain.
We received 2 organic cotton soaker pads, which snap-in to the shell. These inserts are sewn in two parts (attached at both ends and loose in the center) to make for easier washing and drying. They are made of cotton jersey, very absorbent while also soft against baby’s skin. They are also backed with waterproof lining to help keep the shell dry (love this), and have leg gussets to help contain the messes! I found these inserts to be very absorbent, and just one worked well for Connor even during nap time.
I love this diaper! Aside from being super cute, I like that I can reuse the shell multiple times, giving me less to wash. And it’s a perfect diaper for my diaper bag, as I can bring less because the shell can be reused!
