Inspriational jewelry from Alexa’s Angels: Review and Giveaway {2011 Holiday Gift Guide}

Women love jewelry.  I wear very little jewelry, but I still love it and love to receive it for a gift.

Alexa’s Angels is one company I’ve found and love, not just for the jewelry they sell, but the efforts their company makes to support women!

Alexas Angels is a inspirational jewelry line meant to inspire heartfelt emotion. The line offers many unique gift options including necklaces, bracelets, and angel pins for moms, grandmas, aunts, teachers, and loved ones… Alexa’s Angels believes in empowering connections between women of all ages. We are dedicated to supporting non-profit organizations that share this vision.

Alexa’s Angels sponsors organizations such as Gift For Life-a volunteer group raising funds for AIDS assistance and research- and Catch-A-Dream,-an organization which grants once-in-a-lifetime outdoor experiences to children 18 years old or younger who have a life-threatening illness.

I  really love so much of the jewelry offered by Alexa’s Angels.

However, when I saw the expect a miracle necklace- made of rhodium and freshwater pearl, with a 16 inch chain and 2 inch extender- I knew I had to get it.

 I had to get it, but not for myself…

While I love it and would love to proudly wear it around my neck, I have a dear friend who is in need of such inspiration.  At 20-something years old, she is experiencing terrible physical problems.  To make a very long, sad story short, she was given a widely used antibiotic (Ciprofloxacin- commonly known as Cipro) to treat a common infection.  Just shortly after, Cipro was found- in many cases- to cause permanent lasting damage to the tendons in the body and now has a “black box warning”.

My friend has suffered tremendously from these tendon issues.  She cannot stand on her tip toes and reach for something high in a cupboard without fear of tearing her Achilles (this happened to her!), roll over in bed without fearing her shoulder will pop out of socket (also happened to her), or even lift her own children for fear of tearing yet another ligament in her wrist (which has happened twice already).  This has been going on for almost 2 years now, and has been a very difficult time for her and her family.  She has undergone over 6 major surgeries to try and repair the damage done, but as of now there is no way to treat her problems, only fix the injuries as they occur.  The only way she will ever be healed from this problem is by the grace of God, and we’ve been praying for her with all our might.  I know He has a miracle planned for her, and am anxious for the day we witness it in full.

Can you see why I had to give this to her?

She loves this necklace, and cried when she saw what it read. This made me cry of course!  Others who’ve seen her wear it have also been brought to tears. “Expect a miracle”… It’s such a great, wonderful message to hear anyway, but especially for her knowing what she has been through and continues to go through.  We all need a little reassurance from time to time, and this is uplifting for each of us when we see it.
