When I think back on the cartoons I watched as a child, Tom and Jerry comes to mind. I always loved watching cute Tom and adorable little Jerry and their crazy wild antics. It always made me laugh hysterically!
I was so excited to have the opportunity to review a new DVD from Warner Brothers; Tom and Jerry: Fur Flying Adventures volume 3! I was anxious to introduce my kids to the cartoon I loved growing up, and see what they thought of it.
Take one blue-and-white domestic cat. Add one small brown house mouse. Mix in a handful of chases, stir in a few falling anvils and top off with one brutish bulldog named Spike. Yields 14 delightful cartoons! This fast and funny collection rises to the occasion with a crazy camping trip (Sasquashed), a chase through a carnival’s haunted house (Spook House Mouse), an Alaskan adventure (Norther Light Fish Fight) and an encounter with an abominable snow rodent (Snow Mouse). But the most outrageous moment of all comes when Tom and Jerry set aside their differences and join forces against beach muscleheads Spike and Butch in Beach Bully Bingo. Endless fun is the main course served up in this new all-family feast of animated fun.
Each of these short films is around 5 minutes long, some longer, so the entire film is action packed. My kids love this movie and want to watch it often. I love hearing the choruses of laughter every few minutes.
I also like that through most of the movie, there is no talking. Just noises and music. Sometimes I get on noise overload, and the talking and sounds from movies gets obnoxious. This is a movie they can put in that doesn’t drive me crazy with talking and yelling, etc. A minor detail to some, but to me, huge. Love it!
So now the kids love Tom and Jerry as much as I did, and honestly, I still enjoy it myself!
