I Will Praise Him Still

We’ve all been through ups and downs in our lives, times when we feel as if it can’t get much worse.
I recently posted on my personal Facebook page these words: ?WHATEVER my lot, thou has taught me to say, It is well, It is well with my soul?
No matter how bad you think you have it, someone has it worse. You are blessed!! Be thankful for ALL you have, be thankful for your LIFE, and find JOY in what God has given you!

In the past year, I’ve lost count of the deaths myself or my family/friends have experienced. I’ve also lost count of the numerous trials we’ve all been through.

Each day the list continues.  When I posted about my dad’s death, I mentioned that I had planned on writing a post about the uncertainty of life and death, etc, then received a call about my dad passing suddenly.  It mentioned my aunt’s recent diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer at age 50.  This afternoon I learned that my aunt is on death’s door, having just days, maybe only hours left of life.

I’m sad for her, sad for our family, sad as I reflect on those I’ve lost or those I love who have suffered this past year.

Yet through all of these trials, I continue to be reminded of God’s love and mercy.  I continue to try and remember that trials are a part of life, that Christ even said “…your Father which is in heaven… maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust” (Matthew 5:45 KJV).  And through it all- the good and the bad- He is worthy to be praised!!

During these moments of sadness, hurt, struggle, joy, pain, etc, I have heard this song many many times.  I love Fernando Ortega, and this song speaks volumes.  No matter the trial, always remember to praise Him!

I am posting the lyrics only.  The music is beautiful as well, but I could only find an odd video of it on YouTube (with dolphins and their trainers?), so I opted not to post it. However, if you are unfamiliar with the song, or want to listen to it now, go to YouTube and find Fernando Ortega, I Will Praise Him Still.

I Will Praise Him Still

When the morning falls on the farthest hill,
I will sing His name, I will praise Him still.
When dark trials come and my heart is filled
With the weight of doubt, I will praise Him still.

For the Lord our God, He is strong to save
From the arms of death, from the deepest grave.
And He gave us life in His perfect will,
And by His good grace, I will praise Him still.
