I’ve never been much of a breakfast eater, though I do love breakfast foods. We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so I really try to eat something in the morning, but it’s not always easy. Cooking a good breakfast takes time- time that my sleepy, grumpy, non-morning-person self hates to do- and breakfast foods that don’t require cooking never sound appealing to me.
I recently had an opportunity to review a rotating waffle maker from Kalorik. I knew it would get good use for dinners (breakfast for dinner is one of my favorites), but I didn’t realize how much I’d love to use it for breakfast too! It literally takes me no time at all to make up the waffle mix (and I can even make it the night before and put it in the fridge), and then cooking the waffles is super fast too! It’s a hit with the entire family.
The waffle maker came just days before we left on our trip to California. Since both places we were going to be staying at had a full kitchen I decided to bring the waffle maker along.
We used the waffle maker on more than one occasion during our trip. It has non-stick coated plates and a removable aluminum tray underneath to catch any spills, making it super easy to clean and making us even more eager to use so much. It’s always nice when cleaning up after a meal is easy!
It was also so to make these waffles perfect. The waffle maker has indicator lights telling you when the unit is on and when it is ready. Red light means on, green light means it’s heated up and ready to cook! It also has an adjustable temperature control.
The very first waffle I made seemed to take quite a bit to cook, so I turned up the temperature on the unit and the next one cooked in no time. The unit rotates, evenly cooking the waffles, and because of the non-stick plates the finished waffle slides right out with a fork. What you have is a perfectly cooked waffle, 1 inch thick and ready for toppings!
We’ve really been enjoying this waffle maker. I’ve made cinnamon waffles, berry waffles, and next time I think I’ll make cinnamon pecan waffles! YUM! Equally as awesome as making a delicious, easy breakfast is the fact that I’m no longer known as the ‘mom who never makes breakfast’ anymore! Yay!
