Recipe: Chicago Style Rub

A few weeks ago I shared my yummy coleslaw recipe with you and told you I love it on my pulled pork sandwiches.  SO, this week I thought I’d share the rub recipe my husband uses on the pork to make it taste so amazing!  He also uses this recipe on ribs, and it is seriously the best ever!

Of course I took a picture of the pork shoulders on the smoker… So good! And always have to have a few jalapenos to go along with it!

Chicago Style Rub

Ingredients:
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dark brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp cayenne powder
1 1/2 tsp celery salt
1 1/2 tsp all spice

Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and cover the meat generously with it, rubbing it on.  Wrap in plastic (or ziplock it) and store in fridge overnight.

Cook your meat the way you prefer.  Lately we smoke our meat in the smoker, but we also BBQ and bake it.  No matter how you cook it, it will taste amazing with this rub!  Enjoy!

Ooo I’m going to have to try this! I’ve made rubs before, but it’s been awhile. My husband would love to grill something with this!

  3. Oh, Alesha, this looks delicious! And I have a huge pork shoulder out in the freezer! Seems like a good time to wrangle up the kids and grandkids for a weekend cookout!
