Help Boys and Girls Clubs of America with Back To School

Wow, how is it possible that most of the kids are back to school already?!  Seems like yesterday that Summer vacation just started, yet here we are.

Being a homeschooling family, I’m thankful to have the luxury to start a bit later than the public school kids do.  We’ll be starting school in the next few weeks, and while I’m not totally ready with supplies, years of experience (and extra supplies) make me feel far less stressed than I used to.  Give me a week and I’ll be ready.  The kids? They’re ready now!  They’re very excited to start school, to be another grade ahead.  Logan will be starting 4th grade, Brooke will be starting 2nd, and Erik is beyond excited to be starting Kindergarten!

As I mentioned before, I tend to have extra supplies on hand, but boy, hitting the store to get those supplies can really add up! We’re blessed to be able to have family help us out during back to school time with either supplies or cash toward curriculum and supplies, but not everyone is as blessed.

Now YOU can help to give back to those in need!  Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and Disney have partnered to launch the Tools for Back to School initiative.  This initiative features a pop-quiz style game, where supplies are donated to BGCA for every correct answer you score! You get to play a fun pop-quiz style game and help out while doing so! How could it get any better? So, you ready to help out? Go play this fun Tools for Back to School Quiz now!

BGCA has also partnered with jcpenny for the month of August!  Join jcp cares and round up your purchase at the register to benefit BGCA! Head over and find out how you can begin to ‘round up‘!

You should also check out the great tip sheets BGCA offers for parents!  Topics are on the left sidebar of the BGCA site under the ‘Get Ready’ header, and include:

  • Time Management Tips
  • Think College
  • PowerHour Hints for Parents
  • Helping Children Set Goals
  • Be Ready Parent Tips

I’m all about the Time Management Tips! With 4 kiddos and homeschooling 3 of them, I can use suggestions and tips to help me manage my time better and help my kiddos too!

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Boys and Girls Club. I received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
