New and improved Polly Pocket- Stick N Play Review

Of all the doll toys my daughter has, Polly Pocket is one she didn’t have… until now.  In her younger years we didn’t get Polly Pocket because we were concerned with her choking on the small pieces.  However, Mattel has made some changes to Polly Pocket since Brooke was younger, making the pieces larger and adding suction cups on the bottoms.

We were sent the Polly Pocket Hang Out House Play Set and the Stick N Play Game Room.  Since we’ve never had Polly Pocket before, I had nothing to compare to. However, it was easy to compare it to the other doll houses/toys she has.

Yes, Polly is hanging upside down thanks to the suction cups!

First off, I LOVE the suction cups!  With the other doll houses and toys Brooke has, it seems like I am finding the pieces all over the place.  They get stepped on, smaller pieces get vacuumed up… Brooke also can get frustrated because the pieces don’t stay put when she places them in the house; they slide around or fall over at the slightest bump.  Not with these Stick N Play Polly Pocket toys!  While she’s playing she doesn’t have to worry about the pieces moving, since the suction cups keep them where she puts them. When she’s all done and moves the house to her shelf, the pieces stay put also (other than a few pieces from the game room).

This is also fun because so many of the pieces on the Hang Out House and Game Room move and change up play.  For instance, the pool flips over and turns into a bed, the walls flip, changing the look of the house (one is a window changing day to night), and the pool table flips to a ping pong table!  There are so many ways you can change up the play with this house.

The Game Room attaches easily to the Hang Out House, and can be attached at different spots, allowing you to change where the game room is and add other rooms onto the house as well!

Brooke loved playing with this, and when I finally left her alone after taking pictures of her, she played with this in her room for a good hour longer. Later on in the evening she brought it out to the living room to play, and has enjoyed playing with it often since then.  I know the old Polly Pocket was made so small so that it could be taken anywhere in your pocket; While this is much larger, I know my daughter will still tote the entire thing around in her backpack. The dolls and animals have already been toted around and played with away from the play set, and I anticipate that happening for a long time to come!

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel Polly Pocket. I received a product samples and a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
