Bare Fruit Cinnamon Apple Chips- A Healthy and Delicious Snack #giveaway

My kids think they need to eat all day long.  I will not give them food whenever they ask, but we do usually have a snack between lunch and dinner.  More often than not I would give them raisins or crackers, but I’ve found a new, healthy snack to give them to change it up a bit!

I wasn’t sure how well we’d like these when they first came.  While we do like dried fruit, it’s usually the ‘sweetened’ dried fruit, and I noticed these did not have any added sugar. I personally like the idea of no added sugar, but with kids you just never know.

My kids love these.  The first time they had them they couldn’t get enough. Lucky for us we were sent a case of them, so I ripped open another package and gave them more.  Because these are so healthy, I didn’t hesitate to give them extra.  The size is about the same as your average potato chip, and while it’s not quite as crunchy, it still has a nice crunch to it.  The 63 g bags are a perfect snack size to throw in with a school lunch too!

I take the Cinnamon Apple Chips with us when we go out for a snack to keep them occupied, I offer them for lunch in place of potato chips, and I use them for snack time during the afternoons when they insist they’re starving. When I take out the package they all get excited.  In fact, when I took out one of the packages to refer to while doing this review, my 2 year old saw it.  His eyes lit up and he began pointing saying, “Ooo! OOO!”, which translated means, “I really want some of that NOW!”.  (I guess he’s decided noises are faster than words when it comes to food…?)

I like them as well. I often get a craving for a crunchy snack, and these hit the spot. Since they’re so healthy, I don’t feel guilty snacking on them either- a nice feeling!  Since there’s no added sugar and they’re made from 100% apples, every once in a while I’ll get a bite of a sour apple that leaves a pretty nasty taste in my mouth. However, these are few and far between.

Aside from the great taste, I also love that Bare Fruit products are made in the US!

Bare Fruit is sourced in the United States which is important for several reasons. US grown apples, cherries, and other fruits have a quality advantage over those grown elsewhere. For example, the climate in the Pacific Northwest is perfect for growing the sweetest apples in the world. Also, by keeping things close to home, we reduce carbon emissions and support the US economy. Finally, while possible, it is awfully hard to manage true US organic standards in other countries.

With the decline in our economy, I’m always thrilled to find US based companies.  Knowing it helps keep our world a bit greener is always a great benefit too!

  8. These could replace the animal crackers that we sometimes indulge in…much healthier! I checked on their website and found that they are available at several stores in our area! Definitely going to try them out!

    Ummm… my kids tend to eat fresh fruit or veggies, but we also eat popcorn and pretzels as well… I think I would just add these in to the mix!

  21. We eat pretty healthy snacks a lot of the time, but they would be great for replacing fishy crackers.

  22. I would offer these chips as an afternoon snack for Big Sis and myself. They look really yummy! Our snacks are always so different that I don’t know what they’d replace. 🙂
