The other day I had a knock at the door and when I went to open it I found a small white package waiting there for me. I opened it to find several items I had anxiously been awaiting from Everly Grey, proof that good things do come in small packages. I was so excited that I went and tried on all three right away. My kids and husband think I’m crazy when I do this, but I usually just can’t wait to see everything. When ordering online you don’t have a chance to see how something will look on you and often just hope for the best. So when I shop online I want to try it on right away to decide if it stays or goes back. I had nothing to worry about though when it came to the clothing I received from Everly Grey.
I like all of them, but I think my favorite would be the Gabby Work Pant.
There are three color choices for these pants (black, charcoal, and plaid), I chose black. I figured black goes with everything so you can’t go wrong there, and I didn’t. I love these pants. They are super comfortable and literally go with everything. I’ve worn them everywhere from the grocery store to out to dinner for date night with my husband. They go with tennis shoes or can be dressed up with boots, heels, or flats. I love how they look nice enough for work, or a dinner out; but are versatile enough to be worn every day. They feel like yoga pants, only you aren’t actually in work out wear. The faux pockets on the back are great too. They add just enough detail to change them from lounge wear to something you can dress up to wear different places. Another great feature is they are long enough for me. I am 5’9″ and often pants don’t work well for me when I don’t have the option of choosing a longer length, but these are a great for those of us with longer legs. The soft material is also safe in the washer and dryer; so it’s perfect for busy lifestyles that don’t want to have to mess with taking too much extra time when it comes to laundry.
I also received two dresses from Everly Grey. My favorite is the Kaitlyn Dress.
I have to admit I have a little buyer’s remorse when it comes to this dress. Not because I don’t love it because I do. BUT it also came in a black and white leopard print that I was immediately drawn to. I wasn’t feeling very adventurous the day I picked out the dress so I opted for the safer black, which is great, but there’s the inner more adventurous dresser that wishes I would’ve taken the chance with the other print. That being said this dress is still super cute and very flattering for a maternity dress. Many times maternity dresses can hang in a way that resembles a tent instead of a dress. Doesn’t make you feel any better about the way you look when you already often feel huge. This dress isn’t like that though. The wrap around style hangs very well over that baby bump (or in my case baby mountain) and really helps minimize instead of exaggerate it. The love the length, it’s long enough to not worry about bending over picking up my two year old, but can still be worn with some cute leggings and tall boots if you wanted that option. The only thing I didn’t like about this dress is the size of the hole for the wrap around portion is way too wide. I had to safety pin it, otherwise I would’ve had a lot of skin showing right under my arm which was very noticeable considering the dress is black and that part of me NEVER sees the sun so it is snowy white! The safety pin did the trick though and I will probably ask my mother in law (who is an amazing seamstress) to sew up the hole for me so I don’t have to mess with pinning it next time. I cannot sew so I will not ruin a perfectly cute dress by attempting to fix it myself. Other than that I love this dress. It’s extremely comfortable and I got TONS of compliments the first time I wore it out. It’s machine washable, but needs to be laid flat to dry. I’ve washed it twice now and it hasn’t shrunk or faded which so many things seem to. This dress is well made and will last through more than one pregnancy.
Finally I also was lucky to get the Abby Maxi dress.
This dress is available in black only, but as you can see I love black so no complaints about that. Although this is a maxi dress, since I’m a little taller than average it doesn’t go quite down to my ankles like most do, but that didn’t make any difference to me. This is a simple and comfortable dress, but dressed up with black lace on the shoulders. You couldn’t really see how pretty this was online. When I got the dress in my hands I could really appreciate the lace embellishments on the shoulders. It just adds a little something to this simple dress that makes it so feminine. This dress is made of a thin stretchy rayon that feels like a jersey t-shirt, really soft and comfortable. Having a comfortable material is so important in maternity clothes. Since sometimes even your own body doesn’t feel comfortable, you don’t want to add uncomfortable clothes to the mix. It’s nice when a company can provide comfortable, yet stylish, clothes to help you enjoy pregnancy just a little bit more.
I browsed through the entire Everly Grey website and they had so many things I loved. It seems to me it’s getting harder to find maternity clothes in department stores, and in my area the maternity only stores aren’t very conveniently located. I don’t want to have to drive all over town to shop for clothes, so the online options have been great for me during this pregnancy. If you’re in the market for some maternity clothes Everly Grey is definitely worth a look.
