Spring is quickly approaching, and here in Arizona we’ve had ‘Spring weather’ for quite some time now. We’ve had ups and downs in temps, but overall it’s been perfect Spring weather here. This means most of our Winter clothing (aka pants and long sleeves) have been packed away to make room for shorts and tee shirts. My kids are growing like weeds, and while we have tons of hand-me-downs for my 2 younger boys, my oldest son and my daughter need new clothes that they actually fit into. I was so excited to be able to go shopping at Gymboree for a recent review! Not only do they have their adorable new Spring styles out, but they also had an amazing clearance on the end of Winter and early Spring clothes they’re phasing out to make room for the newer apparel! And because I went during a holiday sale, I got even more clothing that I had anticipated- Yeah!!
To be honest, this is the first time I’ve ever shopped at Gymboree. I always assumed their prices would be significantly higher than where I usually buy my kids’ clothes. Merely walking by their storefront in the mall would cause drooling (their clothes are awesome), and I didn’t dare go in the store and be disappointed by the price tags. So, I avoided walking in there. What a mistake I’ve been making!! The photo above shows 6 tops, a skirt, a dress, and a pair of pants. Total cost was $112. Yes, Gymboree does have some higher priced clothing, however, many are the same or cheaper than so many other places I’ve purchased my kids’ clothing, plus, they have awesome sales and amazing clearance prices! Additionally- and probably most importantly- I know these clothes are far better quality than many of the other stores where I buy their clothes, so I know they’ll last through the current kid and be able to be passed down for the next kid.
In the past I would purchase the clearanced ‘out-of-season’ clothing for the following year, but the more my kids age the worse my ability to predict how much they’ll grow. However, I found many clothes on Gymboree clearance that will work year round, like these dress pants I bought for Erik (as you can see he is all boy; dirty knees before we even left the house!):
Of all of the clothes I bought for my kids, only one item was full price- one. I figured with all the money I was saving on everything else, I could bend and let Brooke get this adorable Bow Stripe Dress she wanted so badly (which, by the way, is on sale right now). Honestly though, even the full price for this was what I’d expect to pay at most places. Brooke wanted to wear it with leggings, as she’s very particular about her knees showing when she wears dresses. I just love the little bow on the neckline!
Here are the rest of the items I bought for the kids, all either on sale or clearance. Can’t beat the prices for the quality, and they are all just so adorable!
I love that these polo shirts I got the boys all match, but aren’t identical. My kids are so adorable (if I do say so myself)… 😀
