As Long As We Both Shall Live- Celebrating 10 Years

Today is a very special day for me… 10 years ago today I married the man of my dreams.

wedding reception(So long ago that our pictures weren’t even digital, and I have yet to get them made as a digital copy.  This photo is from our reception and will have to do as our wedding photo for this post until I can get a real one!)

It’s so hard to believe 10 years has passed by already.  Seems like yesterday I was crushing on him at work, just yesterday we were going on our first date, just yesterday I was waiting  in agony for him to finally ask me to marry him (I mean sheesh, we’d talked about it for months already, let’s just take the next step!).  Wasn’t it just yesterday I was waiting in the back room at church, arm in arm with my dad, heart pounding, wondering what was taking them so long to tell us it was time to walk down the aisle and time for my daddy to give me away to the other man to steal my heart…

NewlywedsThese past 10 years have brought endless joys, and I can’t imagine sharing my life with anyone else.  I’m so thankful for the family we’ve created together and can’t think of anyone better to be the father of my children, to raise a family with.  They are my heart.

Family 2012Marriage isn’t always easy, I know, but I’m thankful that even our rough patches have been smooth.  I know without a doubt that our marriage has been successful because we’ve made God the center of it.  When you can pray with your spouse- know you don’t have to do everything alone and a higher power is with you through it all- things are easier.  It’s also been successful because we were both willing to work when times weren’t easy.  Willing to communicate, willing to have patience, willing to give of ourselves.

I can’t wait to see where the next 10 years take us! For better or worse, in good times and in bad, as long as we both shall live.  I love you babe!
