If you didn’t see my previous Gymboree review earlier this year, you didn’t see me gushing about their clothes, and the quality and adorableness. I just can’t get enough of it! I’m happy to say that, all these months later, the clothes I got for the kids still look new and bright and we love them just as much as when they were new. I am so excited that the stuff that my older boys grow out of will have held up so well that I can hang onto them for little brother(s) to wear when they get a bit bigger. My friends are thrilled that the things I am passing to them looks new for their kiddos too!
Of course, now I’m even more excited because I got to shop at Gymboree again last week, just in time for back to school! While we homeschool and don’t have the same need for back to school clothes like public schoolers do, I like to take advantage of the back to school deals that stores often have on clothing; as fast as the kids grow (and as many as I have), it’s nice to be able to stock up a bit when there are great deals too! Gymboree not only had sales on many of their clothes, but they were reducing some of the summer styles and lines to make room for the new stuff coming in. This meant even more of a selection of discounted clothing for me to choose from- score! (Preview below)
I took my daughter, Brooke, with me to shop this time. Shopping in itself is always a fun activity for her, but I was shocked at her overly cooperative attitude when we went to Gymboree. I am sure it helped that there wasn’t one thing she didn’t absolutely love, so she was completely agreeable with anything and everything I asked her if she wanted. However, I had a set amount to spend and I wanted to be sure everyone got something, so she could only get a few. Choosing only a few was next to impossible, but since I had a budget I was determined I was going to stick to it. I figured the amounts for each piece in my head and took it right up to the limit, paying only the tax out of pocket. I ended up with 2 shirts for Logan, a shirt and shorts for Erik, a shirt for Connor, and Brooke got a pair of shorts and 2 shirts, plus an adorable hat. She picked it up right away and loved it so much that I gave in and let her get it. It looks super cute on her too.
It was after the shopping trip that I went through the kids’ clothes and discovered that Brooke and Logan were down to very little that fit them, so I was glad to have gotten them what I did. That adorable hat that Brooke got ended up being the wrong size, so I needed to go back to Gymboree and exchange sizes. Of course I just HAD to look and see what other awesome clothes I could find for Logan and Brooke on clearance since they needed more. I should have known I’d find too much. I spent another $40 but I got them stuff they needed, at as good a price as anywhere else, and MUCH better quality, leaving with 3 shirts and a pair of shorts.
Here’s a peek at what we got:
I love these sets, that I can buy an entire matching set (including accessories) or just pick pieces and mix and match.
The kids look awesome in their new outfits, and they’re pleased as punch to have them too. I’m excited because I got such a great deal on them, and I know they’ll make their way through hand-me-downs for years to come and look just as awesome as they do now. Score for me and all the other mommies I pass them to!
Edited to add: I made a trip to another mall nearby today to have something replaced. I had no idea there was a Gymboree in that mall too, and when I saw I HAD to stop in. They were having another fantastic sale, with 20% off of all of their already marked down clothing. What did that mean for me? Another awesome score of clothes, shoes and accessories! I think I’m a little obsessed. Help! 🙂
