Back to School Means Less Time for Mama

I know, I’ve slowed down on blogging quite a bit these last couple of weeks… Why? Back to school, of course!  Since we homeschool- and I’ve got 3 kids doing full time this year- it takes a ton of time out of my day.  My free time goes to getting other things done around the house, thus taking time away from blogging.  It’s only been a couple of weeks, though, so once we get into the swing of things a bit I’ll have some more time, and I’ve got some fun stuff coming up! More on that at the end of the post…

School has been so much fun already, and each year I’m more and more convinced that I’ve picked the perfect curriculum for us.  I LOVE My Father’s World (if you are a homeschooling family looking for the right curriculum for you, seriously, check out MFW)!  This year picked up right where we left off last year, and it has been so neat learning world history as it coincides with biblical history. We’re also learning about the human body.  It amazes me how much my kids retain (though the true test will be in a few years when we review some of these things).  Recently, we had a blast learning about cells and then making our own using a plastic bag (cell membrane), jello (cytoplasm), frozen peas (lysosomes), lima beans (mitochondria), and a grape (nucleus)…

It was fun to use foods to represent the parts of a cell, and it really helped the kids to remember what those parts were.  We had so much fun!

So there’s a little peek into what we’ve been up to around the Full Time Mama household.

As for blogging, I have some fun stuff coming up!  A few reviews, a few awesome giveaways, PLUS the super fun ‘Let’s Get Cooking‘ Event coming up with Amanda from Coping With Frugality!!  We’ve lined up some awesome companies, so we’ll be bringing you reviews and giveaways for some fantastic kitchen products!

Stay tuned! 😀

  1. I remember doing somthing like this my freshman year of highschool. So cool. And I totally get the whole – no time for mom thing!

  2. Looks like you guys are having fun 🙂

  3. I always wondered how homeschooling moms had time for blogging – it sounds like you are super busy! I am glad you shared your curriculum – I’ve looked into a few and it really confuses me. I would be so lost if I had to choose one… and I”d really like to check My Father’s World out. Love your pics btw, your kids are cute 🙂

  4. That’s so great. I knew from the start I wasn’t made for homeschooling and kudos to those who do!! I’m so glad the year has started off so well! I know a lot of homeschoolers, but haven’t heard of this line before. Blessings on the coming year!
