There’s nothing better to warm you up on a cold day than a hot cup of tea; sipping the steaming hot tea, the soothing warmth filling your body, warming your hands as you wrap them around your mug… can’t beat it.  Over the years I’ve discovered I really enjoy all different kinds of teas, which is why I was really excited to be able to try a few of the tea collections from Mighty Leaf Tea!

Mighty Leaf Tea was born for the sole purpose of infusing life into an ancient indulgence by creating tea products that reach new heights of quality and innovation. Created by a husband-and-wife team, Gary and Jill founded their teahouse on Fillmore St. in San Francisco nearly 20 years ago. Their passion is for creating the most incredible handcrafted tea blends found anywhere, globally sourcing the finest ingredients available. Their specially created handcrafted Tea Pouches are designed to unleash the essence of the quality that is Mighty Leaf Tea, and they’re committed to bring you the finest tea products available.

Mighty Leaf Tea sent me the Toast the Holidays Tea Collection set and the Chai Tea Collection Set to review.

The Toast the Holidays Tea Collection Set comes with a tall 15 oz. porcelain tea mug (available in turquoise and white) with stainless steel infuser and 3 different kinds of tea;

-Orange Dulce, a black tea blend that teems with bergamot, orange, vanilla, and jasmine blossoms.

-Mayan Chocolate Truffle, a stimulating caffeine-free herbal infusion with chocolate chips, chili, red pepper, apple, strawberry and a sweet finish

-Holiday Blend, a festive blend of Chinese black tea with cranberry, orange, papaya, apple, peach and spice.

Holidays Tea Collection SetThis is the first time I’ve owned a mug with an infuser- Prior to this I purchased tea in tea bags.  I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the loose leaf tea, but I’ve found I love it just as much!  The directions on use were on the back of the bags so I knew exactly how much to put into the infuser, and how long to steep the tea.

SteepingThis mug is nice because- when I’m done steeping the tea- the lid can be flipped over and the infuser rests on it, keeping me from making a mess with the bit of liquid that comes off of the loose tea through the infuser.

Infuser on lidI love each of the teas, but the Orange Dulce is my favorite.  Each of them tastes great, however, and the amazing smells that fill the room while the tea is steeping is a comfort too.

The Chai Tea Collection Set comes with a 12 oz stainless steel double-wall insulated mug with lid, and a box of 15 Bombay Chai Tea pouches.

Chai Tea SetStainless Steel MugThe Bombay Chai Tea is a black tea teeming with cinnamon, ginger, pepper, cardamom, clove and star anise.  Simply place the tea pouch in your mug, cover with hot water and let it steep a few minutes.

ChaiI love Chai Tea, and although you generally add milk and sugar, I really like this without those additions as well.  The box has a handy little dispenser at the bottom.

If you’re looking to give the gift of tea to that special someone on your list, be sure and check out all of the tea sets and items Mighty Leaf Tea offers!
