My kids love to draw, as most kids do. They usually have something specific in mind when they draw, be it their favorite character or a picture of our family, for instance. Because there are 4 of them and they draw endless photos, I don’t keep every single one; we just don’t have the space! However, I do keep the ones the have special meaning, (such as ones given as gifts), or I’ll keep ones I’m particularly impressed with. When I think back on it though, I hope I don’t have regrets; kids are only little for so long, and these drawings are still memories and part of who they are, whether there be 5 or 50 of them!
When I heard about Budsies I was really excited. A chance to make one of their drawings come to life and be kept as a true forever memory sounded amazing, and looking at the site I became even more excited.
My sister Michelle was born when I was already 16 so I witnessed her art evolve throughout her childhood. She brought home dozens of drawings each week… some more abstract than others 🙂 But sadly, the drawings went from being displayed on the fridge to being buried in a dismal box in the basement. From wacky shapes to advanced illustrations, Michelle’s creativity was getting forgotten. The idea for Budsies came when I saw Michelle hugging her stuffed animals and tucking them in at night. What if I could turn a drawing into a stuffed animal friend that would last forever? Quite literally bring her drawings to life! Michelle loved her first Budsies (named “Dongler” and “Footsie”). And then her friends demanded their own Budsies, too. Even the youngest ones immediately recognized their own artwork in the stuffed animals and felt a sense of ownership. Their personal pride gave Budsies the top spot among all the other toys. Soon everyone in the neighborhood wanted to turn their art into plush toys! Michelle and I are now proud to share Budsies custom stuffed animals with kids around the world!
Look at these adorable Budsies:
I had my kids each draw something, and then it was time to send the drawings over to the talented designers at Budsies, simply by uploading the artwork to their site or snapping a photo with my cell phone and sending them over! All that’s left is to wait (as patiently as possible) for a few weeks for your Budsie to arrive. And so you know it’s going through the process, Budsies will send updates via email about when they approve your artwork, complete the custom sewing, and ship your new pal via trackable FedEx! It really doesn’t get much easier than that!!
For your information: The stuffed animals are made from safe, hypoallergenic materials. Budsies is registered with the CPSC and have their products tested by a CPSC accredited independent testing laboratory. No worries there! 🙂
I can’t wait for our Budsies to arrive! I’ll definitely be updating with photos when they do!!
Unfortunately it’s too late to get a Budsie in time to be under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning, but you can give the gift of Budsies via a Budsies gift card! OR you can do a pre-order now for a special price and a place in the growing line; while your Budsie won’t be here in time for the holidays, it WILL be in the process! Head over now to get what you’re looking for!
