I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for HoneyBaked Ham. I received a gift card to facilitate my shopping trip and to thank me for participating.
While I always look forward to the holidays, I also look forward to them being over so I can just breathe! I’m so over the holiday hustle and bustle, and yet I still have things I HAVE to do before I can relax. There have been quite a few days in the past few weeks that I’ve made it halfway through the busy day and realized I’ve forgotten to plan dinner. Yes, forgotten to plan dinner. And while I’d be fine with a sandwich or bowl of cereal for dinner, I have a husband and 4 kids who would not be. Had I been better about meal planning prior to the chaos, I’d be able to breathe a little sigh of relief. Crock pot meals are ideal, and I got smart this last week and planned 2 of those for the coming days. Meats that can be roasted or baked in the oven- and take less effort on my part while still tasting amazing- are also ideal, and this time of year is perfect for hams since they’re on sale at every store.
We’ve always stocked up on hams during the Christmas season, putting an extra or two in the freezer for the coming months. We have always liked the ones we’ve purchased from the stores, but I’ve heard a lot about HoneyBaked Ham and how amazing their hams were. However, until earlier this week I hadn’t had the pleasure of experiencing the deliciousness of HoneyBaked Hams.
HoneyBaked Ham, a family-run company since 1957, provides reliable, premium and convenient meal options. From a simple mid-week family dinner to an extravagant dinner party to entertain your extended family for the holidays, HoneyBaked Ham has a wide range of delicious main courses, sides, and desserts to choose from!
A few days ago we had friends over for dinner, and since we’d received a gift card for HoneyBaked Ham I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to save myself some time and still be able to serve our guests a delicious meal. I called a few days ahead to see if I needed to reserve a ham and was told they had plenty on stock and I just needed to come in to the store whenever I was ready and I could pick up whatever I wanted. I looked at their website to see what hams were available and what size I’d need for the amount of people we’d be feeding, and discovered they also had tons of delicious sides I could purchase too!
I was warned by a few family members to expect the store to be packed because of the season, but I was pleasantly surprised that- though there was a line- the line wasn’t very long and there were plenty of staff on hand who kept things running quickly and smoothly. I told them the size and kind of ham I wanted, grabbed 5 sides and a bottle of finishing glaze, and was outta the store in less than 10 minutes (far less time than a trip to the grocery store for dinner items)! I went home, threw everything in the fridge, and got busy taking care of everything else I needed to do before company came, SO relived not to have to worry about dinner other than throwing it in the oven to heat up.
I purchased a 3.75 lb Boneless ham, and 5 sides; Potatoes au Gratin, Sweet Potato Souffle, Green Bean Casserole, Macaroni and Cheese, and Cinnamon Apples. As I was setting it all on the table I was a bit concerned that I may not have purchased enough for everyone, since we had 5 adults and 4 children.
The Ham was really really good, and the finishing glaze I purchased for it made it even tastier. While everything else tasted pretty good, I can tell you the Macaroni and Cheese was gone with the tray scraped clean. The Cinnamon Apples were all gone too, and just a small amount of the Potatoes au Gratin and the Sweet Potato Souffle left. The Green Bean Casserole was our least favorite, and although it wasn’t bad, everything else was just SO good. Even my mom, who is not a big fan of sweet potatoes, had more than one helping of the Sweet Potato Souffle. Personally, I was beyond thrilled that there was some Sweet Potato Souffle left. I had it the next day with lunch, and I ate it as fast as I could so nobody would notice and ask for some… I know, horrible. But I don’t feel the least bit sorry about it, and neither did my taste buds or tummy. 😉
HoneyBaked Ham not only took the pressure off of me for one night of dinner, but they also provided a delicious, filling meal that we all enjoyed; though I hate to say it, those meals are few and far between, as I have one very very picky child. HoneyBaked Ham made dinner enjoyable for everyone!
