Finding great toys for kids always makes me happy. Knowing the toys I’ve gotten for them are made with recycled plastic and other environmentally friendly materials makes me even happier!
Green Toys are packaged in recycled corrugated boxes with no plastics, cellophane or twist-ties, and are 100% recyclable. And the toys themselves…? They’re made mainly with recycled milk jugs! Yes, recycled milk jugs, meaning the toys can be recycled later too. Let’s face it, eventually toys will break or the kids will lose interest and it will be time to get rid of them. Knowing I can toss them in my recycling bin makes me happy. The less waste we create, the better! Green Toys are also made in the USA, so not only are we supporting a local company, but we are reducing green house emissions too.
Green Toys sent a few toys for my kids to review.
First, we got an adorable pink and purple Dump Truck! My daughter can be a girly-girl at times, but being the only girl with 3 brothers, she can also be a tomboy at times. She was so excited to have a dump truck that she could use when playing outside with her brothers, yet call her own! No worrying that her brothers will take it (they could “never play with a pink dump truck!”), and she’ll still feel a little girly playing with it.
Remember the houses I told you she and Erik were building? Well, she used her dump truck to bring in the wood and rocks for the houses, and then when it was time to evacuate from the “storm warning”, she used her dump truck to transport the residents out of the area.
We were also sent the Flatbed with Red Race Car. Connor is a typical boy who, even at 14 months, loves to play with toy cars, pushing them around and making the “vroom” sounds. He enjoys using the flatbed to pull the race car around, and also enjoys lifting the flatbed and watching the car fall off the back end of it.
The final toy we were sent is the Pizza Parlor. This fun set has 27 pieces, featuring four pizza slices that can be stacked with different toppings to personalize your pizza . The set includes 4 pizza crusts, 20 pizza toppings (4 sauce, 4 cheese, 4 sets pepperoni, 2 sets mushrooms, 2 sets onions, 1 green pepper, 1 red pepper, 1 red tomato, and 1 green tomato), pizza cutter, Pizza Parlor order forms, and pizza “delivery” box.
Another great detail to know: Each pizza ingredient is interchangeable with other Green Toys stacking play food products and fits on Green Toys kitchen sets! It’s great to know that I can purchase other kitchen sets and know my kids can use them all together!
My kids have a blast customizing their pizzas. My daughter enjoys taking orders and letting her brothers create the requests. You can see her stuffed animals are patiently waiting for their orders.
