I go to church every Sunday, and wear a dress or skirt and blouse. It is on Sundays- and pretty much only Sundays- that I actually feel pretty and feminine. I get to dress up in a pretty dress or skirt and blouse, wear cute high heels, and I even take the time to apply a bit of makeup. But recently I’ve been getting a little bored with the same outfits. Being a mom means we often go without, and so it’s not often I get a new outfit. I do like to window shop a lot though, and have found a site I could have spent hours perusing…
Shabby Apple has a huge selection of apparel and accessories for women, including tons of beautiful, one-of-a-kind dresses. I drool over them, and love so many of them. Other than how gorgeous they are, I love love love that they’re modest! Long length, higher neckline, and still gorgeous.
The Nothin’ Like A Dame dress is one of my very favorite dresses from Shabby Apple. And while it doesn’t look as good on me as it does on the model, I still feel amazing wearing it.
It is made from cotton poplin and 2% spandex (for a bit of stretch). As you can see, it has a scoop neck with tucks, folds and ruffles with cap sleeves. The sleeves are perfect for summer, especially here in Arizona where it gets hot hot hot! I just loved the red color too!
The material wrinkles very easily, and although I ironed it right before I took the picture, it was hard to tell. I imagine no matter how hard you try, that’s just the way this dress will be. I also think I’d like it even better for me if the length were just above the knee rather than below.
Overall I am in love with this dress and am so thrilled to have it!
