Bring On The Pink- Seraphine Maternity Review and #Giveaway

So, now that I’m heading into my third trimester of pregnancy instead of feeling like one hot mama (which my husband assures me I still am…gotta love a smart guy like that!), I’m feeling like one BIG mama.  Sometimes the outfit I’m wearing can definitely add to that feeling.  I’m sure I’m not the only one who has clothes like that.  You know the ones that just make you feel sort of blah, but you wear them anyway…because you don’t have the time, energy, or extra room in the budget to get something new?  Or more importantly because they were clean that morning when you needed to get dressed!  Whether you’re pregnant or not we all have days like that, and if you’re one of the lucky ones who doesn’t I’m extremely jealous; and can I come over later and browse through your closet?  Maybe you’re tired of some of those super cute clothes, I’m not too proud for hand me downs!

Lucky for me, I recently received something that helped me feel a little more hot mamaish (yes, I invented a new word–but it works!), and a little less big mamaish (see it’s useful again!).  I was super excited to find a package from Seraphine Maternity waiting for me when I got home the other day.  I opened it up to find a brand new dress inside.  I pulled it out and saw it was just as cute as it looked on their website and extremely soft.  The online description was not exaggerating when it said it was made of “soft silk like jersey”.  I love that this dress looks nice enough to wear out, but feels just like a t-shirt.  I have to admit I was a little worried about how this dress would fit.  Half of the models on Seraphine’s website do not look pregnant at all, yet are modeling maternity clothes.  Since I definitely have a baby bump, I wasn’t sure how their clothes would look on me.  Thankfully, the dress fits someone like me, with an actual baby bump, and who wasn’t a size pre-pregnancy size two.  The knotted center in the front is very flattering for a maternity dress, and helps to downplay the size of your middle.

I tried it on for the first time before I washed it, and then wore it out again after.  This item does need to be washed on the delicate cycle and then line dried, or laid flat.  It’s always easier to have clothing that can be thrown into the dryer with everything else, but this dress dried nicely and didn’t shrink or stretch out in the wash.  Since I hung it up immediately after the wash cycle was through it didn’t need any ironing when it finished drying.  That is a huge time saver.  So even though it can’t go in the dryer it wasn’t too much of a hassle to dig it out of the washer before throwing the rest of the load in the dryer.

What really sold me on this dress though was wearing it out for the first time.  I wore it to church and as soon as I walked in and sat down someone immediately walked over to me and said “What a pretty dress, I love it!”  Then throughout the day as I talked to people I got several similar compliments.  They all noticed the new dress and loved it.  Now I definitely want to wear the dress again, soon!  The neckline of this dress is very low-cut, so I chose to wear a cami underneath.  I would’ve preferred not to do this because the material of this dress is pretty clinging so you could see the bottom hemline of the undershirt if it wasn’t perfectly straight underneath.  In spite of that I still love the dress and am thrilled Seraphine Maternity allowed me this opportunity to review it.

The Seraphine Maternity website offers many choices of stylish maternity wear.  They not only have dresses, but a large selection of just about anything you might need from t-shirts to formal wear.  I spent way too much time browsing through their site!  So, if you’re expecting and looking for something to wear to the grocery store, the opera, or anywhere in between definitely make one of your online stops Seraphine Maternity.
