Bring On The Pink- [bump] babies #Giveaway

I can’t think of many women who don’t love new clothes, and I’m no different.  A new outfit or accessory can boost my mood, especially when it earns a compliment (or two) when I wear it.  So needless to say, I was excited to walk out to my mailbox and find a package from [bump] babies waiting for me the other day.  I didn’t even wait to look through the rest of the mail.  Bills can wait when you’re waiting to see how your new shirt will look right?  The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box was the color.  I LOVED the bright pink material with the green accents.  The shirt looked cute online, but even better when I actually got to see it.  Sometimes online shopping can be difficult because colors don’t stay true, or sizing isn’t what you expected, but this shirt was just what the description said it would be.

Since I wasn’t wasting any time opening the box I decided to try it on right away too.  The fit was great.  I love the newer styles of maternity clothes that are a little more form fitting instead of just the ones that just hang over the baby bump and make you feel even more enormous than you already do.  Let’s face it, anyone who has been pregnant knows that even though it’s a given that your body is going to change as that baby grows it doesn’t mean you want to look and feel any larger than you have to.  I’m pregnant with my third child, so I’ve been through this before, but I still don’t enjoy wearing clothing that makes me feel like I’m wearing a tent just to get enough fabric to cover up my expanding middle.  That being said, I also don’t want anything so tight that it shows every curve either.  Which is why I like the style of this particular shirt so much.  It’s long enough, and gathers in at the bottom, so you don’t have to worry about it riding up (which is especially nice when you’re picking up other small children throughout the day), but not so tight I feel uncomfortable in it.  The shirt is made of a soft t-shirt like material and although it is fitted enough to be flattering, it is roomy enough to grow with me throughout the rest of my pregnancy.
The true test of any article of clothing is how well it washes.  Before I showed off my new shirt in public I washed it according to the instructions printed on the shirt’s label.  One downside to this shirt is it can’t go in the dryer.  I usually opt for clothing that can be washed and dried.  When doing laundry for a whole family I prefer not to take time for those more delicate items and usually buy things that don’t need to be hand washed, laid flat, line dried, etc.  This shirt had to be washed in cold water and then laid flat to dry.  I decided it was probably worth it to follow their directions though, since I especially didn’t want to lose any of the embellishments on the shirt.  They added just a little bling to the flower design, and those little green sequins really make the shirt.  The nice thing was even though it couldn’t be dried, since I laid it out immediately it didn’t require any ironing later, which is a huge plus.

What really sold me on this shirt was how many people complimented me the first time I wore it.  When everyone else loves it too, you know you know it’s a keeper.  So now I can look for new opportunities to wear it out again (soon!). It’s a versatile style that can be worn with jeans, or paired with dress pants or a skirt depending on the occassion.  This shirt also has zippered shoulders so it can transition from maternity to nursing wear.

This Lotus top from [bump] babies, is an easy to wear style. Their website also features several other styles from short and long sleeve t-shirts to dresses.  Check them out!
