Summer Activity Guide: Family Game Night

summer activity guide02 smIf I’ve said it once on this blog, I’ve said it a million times- WE LOVE GAMES.  This is one reason why we’ve started being more regular with our family game nights.  Not only do we get to spend time together as a family, but it’s a great FREE activity as well!  Currently one of our favorite games to play together is Farkle, a fun dice-rolling, risk-taking game. As you can see, even the dog joins us! 🙂

We also love SORRY! and Parcheesi.

And of course, we can’t forget about all of the fun Learning Resources and Educational Insights games we’ve gotten for review, such as Mental Blox (enter my giveaway, open until 6/23/13), Riddle Moo This, Sneaky Snacky Squirrel, and Freeze Up!

Freeze Up Game

While we don’t plan a specific day every week, we DO play at least once a week.  If this sounds like too much for you, start with every other Saturday, or every Thursday night.  Set out your favorite snacks and turn on some tunes. You just might enjoy it even more than you think! 🙂

  1. I love this idea! My husband and I use to play games, but didn’t have a set date. My son is little right now, so we play trains or ball, but when he and our other son get older, we will definitely have to have family game night!

  2. I love these pictures! What a fun mom and dad!

  3. Your kids look like they definitely love games!

  4. The only game we play with regularity is Candyland but I would love to branch out from that. My youngest, who is three, has a little trouble following the rules, which is frustrating for our six year old. I grew up playing games with my family though, so we keep trying!
